Residents of a neighborhood have been waiting for the city to take action on a burnt-out house located on the 100 block of Sylvester.
Lydia Afeman, who owns property near the site, expressed concerns about the eyesore and how it affects property values.
One neighbor, who stayed anonymous, shared worry about the presence of homeless people and rodents in the area.
Afeman has been in contact with the city for almost three years, and they recently approved the demolition, which was delayed due to Covid-19.
However, the burnt-out house still stands. Residents speculate that the delay is due to the location of the neighborhood.
The city assured that the house will be demolished within the next week.
