Foros-funded New York Attorney General Letitia James, a radical left Marxist tyrant, and cop-hater best known for her lawfare against President Trump, announced that her Office of Special Investigation is scrutinizing two New York State Troopers to determine whether a crime occurred during a shooting incident involving a knife-wielding man.
According to the timestamp on body camera footage, the incident in Woodbury, New York occurred on September 18, 2024 at approximately 1:52 pm.
While targeting these officers, James is also conspiring to “fight back” and go after Trump again following his landslide 2024 election victory. She’s too focused on persecuting political opponents and police to keep criminals off the streets of New York.
It should also be recalled that Soros-funded Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who also went after Trump with the sham hush money indictment, has charged Marine Veteran Daniel Penny with manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide for saving women and children from a homeless man who was threatening to kill people on the subway in May 2023.
That’s New York justice for you.
According to the New York Attorney General’s webpage,
The Office of Special Investigation (OSI) investigates deaths caused by police officers or peace officers, including corrections officers. When OSI’s investigation shows that a crime was committed, OSI presents evidence to a grand jury. If the grand jury returns an indictment, OSI prosecutes the case. When OSI’s investigation shows that an officer caused a death, but that a crime cannot be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, OSI publishes a report on our website detailing the facts disclosed by the investigation and explaining why the evidence would not demonstrate proof beyond a reasonable doubt.
OSI also makes recommendations for improvements to policing and corrections in its published investigative reports.
OSI is staffed by attorneys, investigators, analysts, and family and community liaisons. OSI conducts over 200 investigations annually and publishes an annual report on its work every October 1. The annual report summarizes the indictments OSI is prosecuting and the investigative reports it has published. The annual report also contains OSI’s recommendations for improvements in policing and corrections, and provides comprehensive demographic and other data on all the matters OSI investigates, including deaths at the state’s prisons and jails, including Rikers Island.
OSI’s authority comes from Section 70-b of New York’s Executive Law (Section 70-b), which went into effect on April 1, 2021. Before April 1, 2021, OSI’s predecessor unit, the Special Investigations and Prosecution Unit (SIPU), conducted investigations and prosecutions under an executive order issued in 2015 by the governor.
Letitia James released body camera footage Thursday from the September encounter with a suspect who was wanted for assault and traveling in a stolen vehicle. According to CBS, “The NYPD said Ali stabbed a 56-year-old female employee at a laundromat in Bath Beach, Brooklyn Monday because his laundry wasn’t ready.” This was conveniently omitted in a statement from James’ office.
In the video below, the man, Ali Ali, is seen traveling through the forest on foot and resisting officers’ commands.
“Drop the knife,” one officer yelled before discharging his taser. The suspect then stood up and charged at the officers before they opened fire.
“Troopers recovered a knife at the scene,” according to the Attorney General’s office.

Now, the officers face potential criminal charges from the leftwing DA’s office.
A statement Thursday from James’ office reads:
NEW YORK – New York Attorney General Letitia James today released police body-worn camera footage that her office obtained as part of its ongoing investigation into the death of Ali Ali, who died on September 18, 2024 following an encounter with members of the New York State Police (NYSP) in Woodbury, Orange County.
On September 18, NYSP received information that Mr. Ali was wanted in New York City for an alleged assault and was traveling in a stolen vehicle. At approximately 5:35 a.m., troopers spotted the stolen vehicle driving on the New York State Thruway in Orange County and attempted to pull the vehicle over. Mr. Ali continued driving until he collided with another vehicle. Mr. Ali then fled the scene on foot and ran into the nearby woods. At approximately 1:51 p.m., troopers spotted Mr. Ali in a wooded area near Trout Brook Road. Mr. Ali allegedly had a knife in his hand and moved toward the troopers. One trooper discharged his service weapon, striking Mr. Ali. Mr. Ali was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers recovered a knife at the scene.
The Office of Special Investigation (OSI) of the Attorney General’s Office released footage from body-worn cameras that troopers were equipped with during the incident. The release of this footage follows Attorney General James’ directive that camera footage obtained by her office during an OSI investigation be released to the public to increase transparency and strengthen public trust in these matters.
Pursuant to New York State Executive Law Section 70-b, OSI assesses every incident reported to it where a police officer or a peace officer, including a corrections officer, may have caused the death of a person by an act or omission. Under the law, the officer may be on-duty or off-duty, and the decedent may be armed or unarmed. Also, the decedent may or may not be in custody or incarcerated. If OSI’s assessment indicates an officer may have caused the death, OSI proceeds to conduct a full investigation of the incident.
The release of this footage is not an expression of any opinion as to the guilt or innocence of any party in a criminal matter or any opinion as to how or whether any individual may be charged with a crime.
