HOUSTON, Texas – Houston has recently seen a surge in violent crimes that has shaken the community to its core. Sadly, this past weekend was no exception as three men were found shot to death in a strip center parking lot on Beechnut Street in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The incident has left family members of the deceased in mourning and seeking answers as to what happened. The Houston Police Department has launched an investigation into the matter but so far, there have been no witnesses, no cars, and no suspects.
One grieving family member, Ashley Montalbo, shared her pain and frustration as she described how she recognized her husband’s boots among the crime scene. Montalbo’s husband, Gerardo Filomeno, was one of the victims, leaving behind two young children.
Montalbo is adamant that her husband was not the intended target and is pleading with the public to come forward with any information that could lead to justice. “He was the sweetest, the nicest person ever. He didn’t have problems with anybody. It wasn’t for him. He was caught in the fire,” she said.
This heartbreaking incident has once again highlighted the need for the community to come together and stand against violence. If you have any information about this crime, please contact the Houston Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS. Every bit of information counts in bringing justice and closure to the families affected by this tragedy.
