A Houston chef named Lena Trang has offered to provide meals for free to Nhung Truong, a single mother of three who was left paralyzed from the waist down after a violent robbery.
Trang, who owns Lena’s Asian Kitchen, met with the family to discuss their likes and dislikes, and plans to deliver meals to them a few times a week for as long as they need.
Truong was discharged from the hospital on Thursday, showing some progress in her recovery.
Two suspects, 17-year-old Joseph Harrell and 19-year-old Zynika Woods, have been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery in her case.
Truong, who cannot feel her legs and must use a wheelchair, is focusing on strengthening her arms.
