Far-left presidential candidate Cornel West has accused Vice President Kamala Harris of attempting to bribe him to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.
West claims Harris offered him a job in her administration and promised to pay off his campaign debts in exchange for his withdrawal.
As reported by Breitbart News on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, these allegations were made during an interview with independent journalist Jordan Chariton on the Status Coup News podcast.
In the interview, West described the various offers made to him by individuals associated with Harris, who urged him to “get on the bandwagon” during what they described as a “historic moment,” particularly for Black Americans.

West, however, firmly rejected these overtures, stating that he was not interested in such offers, which he perceived as attempts to buy his silence and cooperation.

He emphasized that the offers included discussions about potential positions and financial relief, but he declined to elaborate further, choosing not to make those details the focus of the interview.
West also mentioned that the Harris campaign did not offer him a low-level position, indicating that the offer was for something more significant, though he downplayed the importance of the proposed role.
When pressed on whether he was offered a cabinet position or assistance with his campaign debt, West confirmed that serious conversations took place regarding these possibilities, though he remained vague about the specifics.
This controversy arises as West continues to push forward with his presidential campaign, having recently secured a spot on Michigan’s presidential ballot following a judge’s ruling.
