A father in NW Harris County has been arrested for allegedly injuring his own toddler and leading deputies on a chase. The incident occurred on Monday evening, and has shocked the community.
According to reports, the father was seen by witnesses hurting his 2-year-old son at their residence in the 14800 block of Hillside Falls Trail. Concerned neighbors immediately called 911 and reported the incident.
When deputies arrived on the scene, the father had already fled in his vehicle with the toddler in tow. Deputies initiated a chase, which led them down several roads before the father crashed his vehicle near the area of FM 1960 and Kuykendahl Road.
Deputies were able to apprehend the father and take him into custody. The toddler was reported to be injured, and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. His condition is currently unknown.
The incident has left the community in shock and disbelief. Many are asking how a father could harm his own child and then flee from the police.
“This is just heartbreaking,” said one neighbor. “I can’t imagine what that poor little boy must be going through. It’s just tragic.”
The father is currently being held on charges of injury to a child and evading arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
The incident serves as a reminder to all parents to seek help when they are feeling overwhelmed or stressed. There are resources available to help parents cope with the challenges of raising children, and it’s important to reach out for support when needed.
