HOUSTON – The Houston Fire Department is working to determine the cause of a fire at an apartment complex in northern Houston.
The fire occurred at The Landings at Northpoint apartments on Northpoint Drive late in the evening, affecting 12 units and displacing 20 residents.
District Chief Russell Christ reported that the fire is currently under investigation and it is unknown whether arson was involved.
Red Cross is providing assistance to those affected by the fire. One displaced resident expressed sadness over the incident.
In an unrelated incident, an elderly man was killed in a collision with a Texas City police officer.
