Wildlife Host Forrest Galante Struck by Lightning While Filming in Florida – Forrest Galante, a Discovery Channel host and wildlife biologist, was struck by lightning while filming in the Florida Everglades on Friday.
Galante was in the Everglades filming a promotional video for Garmin, a GPS technology company. He was standing in a shallow pool of water when lightning struck a tree nearby.
Galante was thrown to the ground and suffered minor injuries, but he is expected to make a full recovery. He posted a video on YouTube explaining the incident and said that he is grateful to be alive.
“I’m okay, I’m alive, and I’m so thankful for that,” Galante said in the video. “It was a very close call, and I’m just really happy to be here.”
The video of Galante being struck by lightning has gone viral on social media.
